STEP 1: First of all, visit the official Digi Shakti Portal website at digishaktiup.in/app

TEP 2: At the homepage, select your “User Type” from one of the following:-

  • University/Board/Society/Council

STEP 3: After selecting the User Type, fill the User ID, Password and Captcha in the respective fields and click on Sign In button.

STEP 4: User will be Logged In to his/her respective dashboard thereafter. After login, user will be briefed about the processing of software.

In case user forgets his/her password, click on Forgot Password? link and submit the User Type and User ID in respective fields for OTP based Mobile No./Email ID verification. Once the verification is done, user can create his/her own login password.

What is UP free smartphone tablet Yojana for students

Ahead of the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Council elections, Premier Yogi Adityanath has begun distributing free smartphones and tablets to around two million students in the state. The first phase of the program was launched on December 25, 2021, marking the birthday of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. On this day, one thousand smartphones and tablets were given to final year students at Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.

The launch of the free tablet smartphone UP yojana comes after Samajwadi party leader Akhilesh Yadav during an anonymous search in Adityanath accused the prime minister of not knowing how to use a laptop. The UP State Government has stated that the distribution of tablets and smartphones under the free UP smartphone/tablet program will help increase the technical capacity of young people. Not only young people will be able to successfully complete their course but also after finishing their studies they will be able to use the facilities to work in various government/non-governmental organizations or self-help programs.

After being re-elected to power, CM Yogi Adityanath headed the state government. 2.0 includes the UP Free Smartphone Scheme in the first 100-day action plan. Expected in the first 100 days in power, the Yogi government. 2.0 will provide 9.74 million smartphones for young people. A total of 2 crore tablets will be distributed as the UP Free Tablet Yojana statewide in the coming years.

Salient Features of DigiShakti Mapper for UPDESCO App

The DigiShakti Mapper for UPDESCO App has been developed, monitored and maintained by UPDESCO an Undertaking of State Government of Uttar Pradesh, India (GoUP). This Digi Shakti Adhyayan App is intended to be used by the authorities of Colleges/Institutes/University Campuses/Training Centers/District Industrial Commissioners (Institutions) of Uttar Pradesh for mapping of IMEI Number of Smartphones and Tablets (Devices) with Students Enrolled on DigiShakti Portal under “Tablet and Smartphone Distribution Scheme 2021-2022” for Digital Empowerment of Youth Studying in Uttar Pradesh in Session 2021-2022, launched by GoUP.

To map the details, Institutions will have to login to the App and Scan the Barcode of device box which includes IMEI No. of device and thereafter scan the QR Code of Students’ Slip pasted on device by the Institutions. For security reasons only authorized users of Institutions are allowed to login to the App and no registration is required. Logins of users will be created by Departments / Agencies / Bodies authorized by GoUP and same will be handed over to the concerned users thereafter.

1st Phase of UP Free Smartphone Scheme

Aa large number of students, including girls, from every district of the state participated in the programme on 25 December 2021. CM Yogi Adityanath has distributed 60,000 smartphones and 40,000 tablets to the youths at the event. Free smartphones and tablets will be given to about two crore students to make them technically sound. Final year students of MA, BA, BSc, ITI, MBBS, MD, BTech, and MTech, among others, will be given preference.

More than 50 lakh youths have already registered themselves on the Digi Shakti Portal. Further registration is going on. Orders were issued by the government to companies like Lava, Samsung and Acer for the supply of smartphones and tablets. The companies delivered these tablets / smartphones to the state govt. before 24 December 2021 and now distribution of these has been started, the statement said.

Cost of Tablets / Smartphones

In the first phase, an order of about Rs. 2,035 crore was issued for the purchase of smartphones and tablets. Order was placed for 10.50 lakh smartphones at the rate of Rs. 10,740 per smartphone and for 7.20 lakh tablets at the rate of Rs. 12,606 per tablet. It is important to note that all the eligible students will not have to pay any amount to get these smartphones / tablets as these are absolutely free for students.

  1. योगी सरकार की इस योजना का लाभ उन विद्यार्थियों को मिलेगा जो उत्तर प्रदेश के स्थायी निवासी हैं। 
  2. जिन विद्यार्थियों को 10वीं और 12वीं में 65 फीसदी या उससे अधिक अंक प्राप्त हुए हैं।

Cabinet Approval for UP Free Tablet Yojana

The Uttar Pradesh cabinet on 5 October 2021 (Tuesday) gave its approval to the Yogi government’s proposal for distribution of free tablets and smartphones to the youth in the urban and rural areas of the state. In a press statement, the state government said smartphones/tablets free of cost will be distributed among the youth enrolled in various teaching / training programmes in the state like:-

  • Graduation (UG)
  • Post-graduation (PG)
  • Diploma
  • Skill development
  • Paramedical
  • Nursing
  • Others

The youth enrolled in the higher education, technical education, health education, skill development training, ITI and Seva Mitra portal of the state will get the benefit of UP Free Tablet Yojana. Seva Mitra portal is an important initiative of the skill development department through which various skill services like those of plumber, carpenter, nurse, electrician, AC mechanic etc are trained. They will be provided tablets/smartphones so that they can earn their living by providing better services to the citizens. In the proposed beneficiary category under the scheme, the youth of other categories can also be included from time to time with the approval of the chief minister.

The decision of which beneficiary category is to be provided and to whom smartphones are to be provided has been decided at the level of chief minister in due course. Determination of priority of the beneficiary class for distribution of tablets/smartphones and also regarding phased purchase is taken from the level of chief minister in due course, the state government’s statement said. Just like Free Smartphone Schemes in other states, the state govt. of UP led by CM Yogi Adityanath is also inviting UP Free Tablet Smartphone Yojana 2022 online registration form. All the applicants would be required to fill the Yogi Free Mobile Phone Scheme application form through the official Digi Shakti website of the UP government. Steps to Apply / Register Online for Yogi Free Smartphone Yojana

STEP 1: The interested applicants first need to visit the website https://digishaktiup.in/app and then click the register button.

STEP 2: The applicants then need to fill their personal and contact information required in the form. Name, Gender, Date of Birth, Name of Father/Mother/Spouse and district etc are to be filled in the first step.

STEP 3: The applicants can then review the filled application form and submit.

STEP 4: A unique registration number will be allotted to each candidate after submitting the details.

STEP 5: The applicants will receive a login password on their mobile number through SMS to complete the second step application procedure.

STEP 6: Login using the password received on your mobile number and fill rest of the details such as complete address, category, income details, and academic details.

STEP 7: Upload scanned copies of latest passport size photograph and mark sheet of 10th class.

STEP 8: If the candidate is found eligible after verification, the smartphone will be delivered to their home in second half of 2022.

In the second step of application, the applicants need to review the submitted information and make the final submission. After the second step is complete, the applicants will not be able to change/edit any of the submitted information.

According to the statement, the smartphone will act as a two way communication tool to inform and educate people about the scheme and policies of UP government. The smartphone will come with the latest software and loaded with the app where users can share feedback about the government policies and schemes. The e-smartphones under UP Free Mobile Phone Yojana 2022 will be kept in college library and would be issued to students like books.
