The program strives to develop skilled workers with technical knowledge and commitment to sustainable development, which will contribute to the achievement of the Nationally Defined Contributions (NDCs), the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the National Biodiversity Goals (NBT), as well as the waste management code (2016).
The first GSDP course was developed to train biodiversity conservation professionals (basic course) and taxonomists (advanced course), lasting 3 months each, on a grassroots basis. piloted in ten selected districts in the country (including nine biogeographic regions). 94 students who successfully completed the basic course qualified to become biodiversity conservation experts and 152 students who successfully completed the advanced course qualified to become qualified taxonomists.
