Science and Technology Yojana for Aatmanirbhar Bharat in Mining Advancement (SATYABHAMA)
At the Satyabhama Portal, people can check guidelines for support to mining research and guidelines for implementation of information, education and communication component of S & T Scheme. Central govt. provides funds to academic institutions, universities, national institutes and R&D institutions recognized with the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India.
The funds are provided to implement R&D projects under Science and Technology Programme Scheme of Ministry of Mines. The main aim is to realize the vision to promote research in applied geosciences, mineral exploration, mining and allied areas, mineral processing, optimum utilization and conservation of the mineral resources of the country. This would benefit the entire Indian nation and its people.

Thrust Areas to Supporting Research in Mining
The broad thrust areas to support research in mining are given below:-
- Prospecting / exploration for strategic, rare and rare earth minerals.
- Development of new technology for mineral exploration and mining on land and deep sea to locate and exploit new mineral resources.
- Research in mining methods. This includes rock mechanics, mine designing, mining equipments, energy conservation, environmental protection and mine safety.
- Improve efficiency in process, operations, recovery of by-products and reduction in specification and consumption norms.
- Research in metallurgy and mineral beneficiation techniques to utilize lower grade and finer size ores.
- Extraction of value added products from mine waste, plant tailings etc.
- Development of new alloys and metal related products, etc.
- Evolve low capital and energy saving processing systems.
- Production of materials of high purity.
- Cooperative research among organizations associated with the mineral sector.
Science and Technology Yojana for Aatmanirbhar Bharat in Mining Advancement
Unlike the current system where research proposals are physically submitted by scientists/researchers, the SATYABHAMA portal allows project proposals to be submitted online. In addition, there is an online mechanism for monitoring projects and utilization of funds/grants Project progress reports and final technical reports can also be submitted electronically by researchers to the portal The portal also includes a user guide detailing the procedures for submitting project proposals. The portal is integrated with NITI Aayog's NGO Darpan portal. The central government allocates funds to academic institutions, universities, national institutes and R&D institutes to carry out R&D projects under the Science and Technology Program of the Ministry of Mines This is done to advance research in applied geosciences, mineral exploration, mining and related fields, mineral processing, optimal use and conservation of the country's mineral resources. The portal will augment the Yojana's deployment of science and technology in Aatmanirbhar Bharat's mining progress.
