The Uttar Pradesh government has initiated the online application process for High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) for vehicles, which can be accessed at bookmyhsrp.com. As per the CMVR 1989 Rule 50, it is mandatory for all owners of two-wheelers and four-wheelers to have HSRP number plates installed on their vehicles. The installation of these plates will be carried out by the respective automobile dealers in Uttar Pradesh this month. Changes in HSRP UP Application Process (Latest Update)
The UP HSRP and colour-coded sticker booking process has been simplified to help vehicle owners, with the number of fields to be filled in the application form reduced by half. The process to book High-Security Number Plates (HSRP UP) and colour-coded stickers has been simplified and the number of fields that are required to be filled in by customers on the booking portal https://www.bookmyhsrp.com/ has been reduced. The application now integrates with the Vahan database, allowing customers to enter their vehicle number and retrieve verified data such as the vehicle's class, fuel type, chassis number (VIN Number), and engine number. This integration has significantly reduced the application process from 12 steps to just six, saving time for those applying for HSRP and the colour-coded sticker.
Moreover, customers now only need to enter the last five digits of the chassis and engine numbers when booking the HSRP. In case of any data mismatch, customers have the option to upload photographs of their RC, front, and rear number plates (for laser code) while booking the colour-coded sticker.
Since November 14, the company has received 3.8 lakh orders for HSRP and 1.90 lakh for the colour-coded stickers. Out of 52,709 home delivery orders received, 47,380 have already been fitted. The number of dealerships where customers can make appointments for HSRP and colour-coded sticker affixation is also being increased.
A new application has been introduced, allowing customers and dealers to receive an SMS notification when a plate is dispatched from the embossing centre and on its way for affixation at the designated address. Rider-fitters will confirm affixation by uploading photographs into the app, and an SMS will be sent to the dealer and vehicle owner as confirmation.
Currently, the company has over 450 rider-fitters for home delivery affixation, with the number expected to increase to 600 in the first week of January.
To address customer enquiries and grievances related to affixation of HSRP at dealerships and during home delivery, the company has launched separate helpline numbers and email addresses for general enquiries and specific concerns.

STEP 6: Then choose your fitment location where you want to get your High Security Number Plate fixed at your nearest location in Uttar Pradesh.
STEP 7: Next you can choose your appointment slot. It would be the time of your choosing when you will have to go to the nearest fitment location and get your UP HSRP Number Plate fixed on your vehicle.
STEP 8: After choosing the place and time (as per your choice) in the previous two steps. Now the entire Booking Summary of High Security Number Plate would get opened.
STEP 9: Next, you can verify the date, time which you have entered and confirm it. After confirmation of application, you will have to make payment for HSRP UP Plate Installation. It could be done through Internet Banking / Debit Card / Credit Card or other online mode. Paying at HSRP installation centres is not an option as only prepaid customers are allowed to apply for UP HSRP Plate through online mode.
STEP 10: Finally, you can download UP HSRP Plate receipt. This receipt will contain the details of your vehicle same as you have entered along with payment confirmation. Download / Take a printout of this receipt.
You must carry this receipt along with your aadhar card at the HSRP installation centres at the specified time slot to get your vehicle fixed with high security number plate.

Government Order on HSRP UP
The Regional Transport Offices in Uttar Pradesh have conducted meetings with dealers to provide them with detailed information about the process of fixing High Security Registration Plates (HSRP). The UP Transport Department has completed its responsibilities, and now it is the dealers' responsibility to create a portal and issue online appointments for HSRP installation. The installation process for these number plates needs to be completed efficiently and promptly.
Any vehicle owner in Uttar Pradesh can easily schedule an appointment online with their respective dealer to get the HSRP UP fitted. If a vehicle owner has relocated from the city where they purchased the vehicle, they have the flexibility to visit any dealer of the same automobile brand in their new city. In case the current city does not have a dealer, they can apply online for High Security Registration Plates in the nearest district. Before submitting an online application, it is important for the owner to ensure that there are no pending traffic challans against the vehicle and that its registration is valid.
The HSRP number plates are equipped with embedded chips that store the ownership details of vehicles in a national database. An HSRP UP for 4 wheeler may cost around Rs. 500 and for a 2 wheeler around Rs. 200. No manual application will be accepted by dealers. Once the HSRP UP is fitted, dealers will have to update details on the VAHAN portal.
