UP Vidhwa Pension Scheme – What is it?
CM Yogi Adityanath has declared a substantial increase in the honorarium for destitute women, specifically those under the widow pension scheme. Initially, these women received a monthly stipend of Rs. 300, which was subsequently raised to Rs. 500 by the government. Now, the government has further elevated this amount to Rs. 1,000.
Previously, the state had 17.31 lakh destitute women benefiting from this pension scheme. With this enhancement, the number has surged to 30.34 lakh. To facilitate access for interested and eligible candidates, the process has been streamlined, eliminating the need for unnecessary visits to government offices. Instead, individuals can conveniently apply online to avail themselves of the benefits offered by the UP Vidhwa Pension Yojana 2023.
This initiative by the Uttar Pradesh government aims to extend financial assistance to impoverished widows who have not remarried. Under the UP Widow Pension Scheme 2023, widows of any age will now receive a monthly pension of Rs. 1,000, up from the previous Rs. 500, as per the latest announcement in the supplementary budget of Uttar Pradesh. However, the disbursement of this increased amount is contingent upon the successful completion of the widow pension application process and approval by the relevant authorities within the Samajik Kalyan Vibhag in Uttar Pradesh. It's worth noting that beneficiaries should not be receiving benefits from the Old Age Pension Scheme, Viklang Pension Scheme, or other pension programs to qualify for this enhanced assistance.

STEP 3: In the new window, click the “ऑनलाइन आवेदन करें” link
STEP 4: In next window, UP Widow Pension Scheme Online Application Form will appear
STEP 5: Here candidates have to fill all the details and “Save” details. Next candidates can click the “Edit Saved Form / Final Submit” option to finally submit the Vidhwa Pension Yojana online application form.
Candidates must physically submit it to DSWO / DPO / DHWO office within 1 month from the date of Final Submission.
