WB Aikyashree Minority Scholarship Scheme 2023

In response to the increasing demand for education within minority communities, the West Bengal Aikyashree Minority Scholarship Scheme 2023 has been launched. The WB Aikyashree Scheme seeks to empower minority students by offering financial assistance and motivation, opening up new avenues for socio-economic and educational advancement. The West Bengal government has made the commitment to fully fund the Aikyashree – West Bengal State Scholarships for Minority Students in West Bengal from the state budget, starting from the previous fiscal year. Aikyashree Scholarship Amount 2023

Aikyashree Scholarships for Minority Students is an initiative of the Government of West Bengal implemented from the financial year 2019-20 onward. A scholarship amount of upto Rs. 33,000 per annum is given to the selected students. Also, the West Bengal Government provides scholarships under the following schemes namely

1. Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-means scholarship and
2. Stipend for meritorious minority students under Talent Support Programme.

STEP 1: Firstly visit the official website of West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation at https://www.wbmdfc.org/

STEP 2: At the homepage, click at the “Aikyashree 2023-24” tab or directly click at link https://wbmdfcscholarship.in/

STEP 3: On the next page, click at the “Student’s Area” tab to open Student Panel.

STEP 4: For fresh application, click on the “Fresh Registration 2023-24” link.

STEP 5: Select district of your institution as shown here to proceed to fill Aikyashree Minority Scholarship Scheme online registration form.

STEP 6: Then the WB Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme online registration form 2023 will appear as shown below:-

STEP 7: Fill up the student information and click at “Submit & Proceed” button. Fill up Scheme Eligibility Column and click “Submit and Proceed“. Check the relevant scholarship scheme and proceed. Also, check the relevant scholarship scheme.

STEP 8: Click login/Students login and fill up information under Basic information, academic information and bank account information in that order;

Aikyashree Scholarship Renewal Application Form 2023

STEP 1 to 3: The Step 1 to Step 3 are the same as mentioned above in the fresh registration section.

STEP 4: Click at the “Renew Your Application 2022-23” link in the Student Panel (as shown above)

STEP 5: Select district of your institution to proceed to open the Aikyashree Scholarship Student Renewal Login page as shown below:-

STEP 6: Log in using the user name and “Date of Birth“. OTP will be sent on registered mobile number (except for pre matric).

STEP 7: To change any course /institute /or any other information, click on “Withdraw Application” option and apply as fresh.

STEP 8: If there is no change in information, click on “Renew Application“, provide percentage of marks and change IFSC code if required. Submit and lock renewal application.

Types of Scholarships in WB Aikyashree Scheme

There are 5 types of scholarships which would be given to students from minority communities which are as follows:-

1. Pre Matric Scholarship
2. Post Matric Scholarship
3. Merit-cum-Means Scholarship
4. Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship
5. State Govt. Sponsored Stipend under Talent Support Programme (TSP)

Eligibility Criteria for WB Aikhyashree Minority Scholarship Scheme

The candidates must follow the following eligibility criteria to become eligible for Aikyashree Minority Scholarship Scheme 2023:-

For Pre-matric and Post matric Scholarship

• Applicant must be a domicile of West Bengal.
• Students must be studying in a School/ Institution recognized by an educational Board/ Council/ University of the State/ Central Government.
• He / She must have secured at-least 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination.
• The total annual family income from all sources must not exceed Rs. 2 lakh p.a
• Those students who are studying in institutes outside West Bengal will not be eligible for pre-matric or post-matric scholarship.

For Merit Cum Means Scholarship

• Applicants must be domicile of West Bengal.
• He / She must have got admission in technical / professional course.
• Student must have secured at-least 50% marks in last higher secondary / graduation examinations.
• The total annual family income from all sources must not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh p.a

The students who are residents of West Bengal but pursuing studies in listed institutions located outside West Bengal, as may be notified from time to time by the West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation, are also eligible for applying.

B) Click on the “Duare Sarkar” icon to open the Duare Sarkar Portal to make login.

C) Select “Aikyashree” or “Others” (whichever is applicable).

D) For Aikyashree, enter Aikyashree ID or register your complaint through the OTP sent to the registered mobile number.

STEP C: Track your application by providing application id or Mobile number and date of birth.

Need for Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme in West Bengal

In the previous fiscal year, the state administration of West Bengal submitted 32 lakh applications to the central government for scholarships targeting minority students. However, the central government only approved 16 lakh of these applications, leaving half of them ineligible due to not meeting the 50% marks requirement in their previous exams. The West Bengal state government sought information on these excluded students from the central government but received no response. As a result, the state government has made the decision to introduce the Aikyashree Scheme 2023 and invite applications from students belonging to the minority category.

Under the WB Aikyashree Scheme 2023, the state government has already received approximately 42 lakh applications from minority students. To ensure the success of the Aikyashree Scheme, state authorities conducted an extensive awareness campaign. Furthermore, the West Bengal state government has set no specific eligibility criteria other than a family income limit for applicants to the Aikyashree Minority Scholarship Scheme.

Aikyashree Minority Scholarship Guidelines

The eligible students will get Aikyashree scholarships in order of merit and subject to the budgetary allocation by WB government. For renewal, the applicant will be eligible for the scholarship if he/she has obtained 50% marks in his/her previous examination. The applications will be received online through a portal designed for this purpose.

The applications will be verified by the Nodal Teachers of the respective School. The selection will be made as per the eligibility criteria and the disbursement will be made through Direct Bank Transfer (DBT) mode.
