HP Ration Card Application Form 2023-24 PDF

 The Himachal Pradesh government has opened the application process for the new HP Ration Card in 2023. You can apply for the ration card through the official website at himachalforms.nic.in or download the HP Ration Card Form PDF from food.hp.nic.in. This application is open to those whose names are not listed in the current HP Ration Card.

The application process is available both online and offline. You can apply online by filling out the Consumer Card fillable PDF. Additionally, you can download the HP Ration Card Form PDF, complete it, and submit it to the relevant authorities. This will ensure that your name is included in the updated HP Ration Card Data and the new Ration Card List.

STEP 3: In the next page, go to the ‘Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department‘ section and then click at the “Application for Ration Card” link. Then click at the “Fillable PDF” button to open the new HP ration card online application form:-



All the candidates must submit the filled in HP ration card application form to the Inspector, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs / Gram Panchayat Vikas Adhikari.

  • At the homepage, click at the “Getting / Renewal of Ration Cards” link under ‘Citizen Services’ section.
  • Under Getting a Ration Card section, click at the “Download Ration Card Application Form-II” link.

  • The application for obtaining a ration card should be made to the Panchayat Secretary/Panchayat Sahayak in case of rural areas and to the Food & Supplies Officer/ Inspector, FCS&CA in case of urban areas.

Where to Apply for Issuance of Ration Card

The application for obtaining a ration card should be made to the Panchayat Secretary/Panchayat Sahayak  in case of rural areas and to the Food & Supplies Officer/ Inspector, FCS&CA in case of urban areas.

Who is Eligible to Apply for Issuance of Ration Card in Himachal Pradesh


Individuals without a ration card must obtain a certificate from the Panchayat Secretary, Panchayat Sahayak, Food & Supplies Officer, Inspector, or the respective authority confirming their lack of a ration card. This certificate needs to be submitted alongside the ration card application form.

For temporary situations, such as migration, a temporary ration card may be issued. The validity of this card should not exceed three months.

In cases where the ration card is lost, damaged, or otherwise becomes unreadable through no fault of the holder, the competent authority can issue a duplicate ration card upon payment of the applicable fee.

For individuals holding a ration card in their previous place of residence, such as government officials or those who have relocated, a Deletion Certificate from the previous area's Panchayat Secretary, Panchayat Sahayak, Food & Supplies Officer, or Inspector needs to be attached to the new ration card application.

In instances of marriage, a Deletion Certificate from the previous place of residence issued by the Panchayat Secretary, Panchayat Sahayak, Food & Supplies Officer, or Inspector is necessary. This certificate should accompany both the ration card application and the existing ration card.

Regarding the addition of a child to the ration card, a birth certificate for the child must be provided along with the application, either handwritten or typed on plain paper. This application should be addressed to the Panchayat Secretary, Panchayat Sahayak, Food & Supplies Officer, or Inspector, specifying the required addition to the ration card.

Supporting Documents for HP Ration Card Application Form

  • For a new Ration Card, Deletion Certificate to the effect that the applicant was not holding any ration card previously must be submitted.
  • For addition of members in the existing Ration Card, in the case of marriage, deletion certificate of the spouse from the previous place and in the case of birth of a child, the birth certificate of the child. The existing ration card must also accompany the application.

  • New Ration Card: A fee of Rs.5.00 is charged for issuance of a Ration Card to APL families. 
  • Duplicate Ration Card: A fee of Rs.5.00 is charged for issuance of a Ration Card.

Time Limit for Ration Card in Himachal Pradesh

The receiving official will give the receipt of the application to the applicant along with the probable date when the Office will issue the Ration Card.  The Ration Card is issued within a week under normal circumstances.
