 Over the past nine years, the Central government under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi has introduced several initiatives aimed at fostering and advancing students' education. Recognizing the invaluable contribution of Indian students to the nation, the government has prioritized nurturing and supporting this vast demographic through the provision of fundamental education, ultimately enhancing the overall quality of life.

The Pradhan Mantri Yojana for Students has been consistently evolving since its launch in 2014, with new schemes introduced each year until 2023. These government programs, specifically designed for school education, continue to remain applicable in 2023. The New PM Modi Government Schemes List for Students' Education in 2023 encompasses a comprehensive compilation of central government initiatives for school education in India. These encompass schemes overseen by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). The inclusive list consists of 10 AICTE-managed and 28 MHRD-led schemes, categorized into initiatives targeting elementary, secondary, and higher education.

PG Scholarship Scheme

The PG Scholarship Scheme is granted to students who are full-time qualifiers of GATE / GPAT. Those students who have qualified and been admitted to M.E. / M. Tech / M. Arch and M. Pharma courses in AICTE approved Institutions and Colleges are eligible for this scheme. The beneficiaries of the PG Scholarship Scheme receive Rs. 12,400 per month per student.

National Doctoral Fellowship (NDF)

The NDF Scheme supports full-time exceptional research scholars by offering research fellowships to eligible students. It aims to assist individuals seeking admission to Ph.D. programs in AICTE approved Technical Institutes/University Departments focusing on research in specialized areas. Candidates interested in availing the benefits of the National Doctoral Fellowship Scheme can apply online for consideration.

Pragati Scholarship Scheme

The Pragati Scholarship/Contingency is granted to exceptional female students enrolling in AICTE approved Technical institutions for Degree/Diploma programs. A total of 4000 scholarships are awarded, providing Rs. 30,000 for tuition fee reimbursement and Rs. 20,000 for incidentals annually. Saksham Scholarship Scheme

The Saksham Scholarship/Contingency is granted to students with disabilities who enroll in AICTE approved Technical institutions for Degree/Diploma programs. A total of 1000 scholarships are offered, providing Rs. 30,000 for tuition fee reimbursement and Rs. 20,000 for incidentals each year. Prerana Scheme for Preparing SC / ST Students for Higher Education

There exists a significant shortage of faculty within engineering and polytechnic colleges. This issue can be mitigated by encouraging undergraduate students in their pre-final and final years to pursue postgraduate courses. The Prerana Scheme aims to provide financial support to institutes that are dedicated to exerting additional efforts in encouraging and training SC/ST students for examinations such as GATE/GPAT/CAT/CMAT and GRE. The primary objective of the scheme is to assist aspiring SC/ST students in pursuing higher education through admission tests like GATE/GPAT/CAT/CMAT/TOEFL/IELTS and GRE. Samriddhi Scheme for SC / ST Students to Setup Startups

Given the limited job prospects in the current market scenario, it's crucial to create avenues for SC/ST students to establish their enterprises. The overarching goal of the Samriddhi Scheme is to assist SC/ST students in conceptualizing, initiating, and managing their own business or startup through entrepreneurship development programs after completing their formal education or during their educational tenure in alignment with AICTE’s startup policy. Support to Students for Participating in Competition Abroad (SSPCA)

The goal of the SSPCA Scheme is to offer travel assistance and cover registration fees for a team consisting of a minimum of 2 to 10 students who are participating in international-level competitions. This initiative aims to motivate engineering students to enhance their technical education. Students have the opportunity to apply online for the SSPCA Scheme to access its benefits.

Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS)

The primary aim of the PM Scholarship Scheme is to develop the skills and capabilities of the youth in Jammu and Kashmir, educating, empowering, and enabling them to compete effectively, consequently bolstering employment opportunities for the students from the region. A total of 5000 scholarships are awarded annually, providing maintenance charges at Rs. 100,000, academic fees at Rs. 30,000 for General Degree courses, Rs. 125,000 for Engineering Degrees, and Rs. 300,000 for Medical Degrees.

AICTE INAE Grant Scheme

An AICTE-INAE Travel Grant Scheme for Engineering Students to present papers abroad has been launched for enhancing the quality of engineering education in the country. Students can apply online for AICTE-INAE Travel Grant Scheme or download pdf application form to avail its benefits.

Smart India Hackathon

The Smart India Hackathon stands as a distinctive initiative aimed at discovering innovative and groundbreaking digital solutions to address the challenges encountered by our nation within the framework of the Smart India Hackathon 2017 program. This event took place continuously for 36 hours from 1st to 2nd April 2017. It engaged 9544 technology students, featured 598 problem statements, involved 29 distinct central government ministries, partnered with 26 different nodal centers, and provided funding of Rs. 3 lakh per team for the top 100 qualified teams.

M.Tech Projects as Internship with MSMEs

The main objective of the scheme is to nurture an innovation ecosystem that benefits the technologically deficient MSMEs and technical institutes both. 408 Small and Medium Enterprises have given requirement of 738 Technology students.
